The Church in the South

One thing I know about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is that it is the same throughout all the world. We have the same meetings, the same teachings, the same organization everywhere. But little things creep in throughout the different regions. Every now and again Jeremy looks down and shakes his head at church because someone is doing something that is not quite in line with or appropriate in sacrament meeting, but our ward has a lot of new converts. Plus we're in the Bible Belt, so most of our converts are southern methodist or baptist.

Example: On Sunday we had our testimony meeting and one of the new converts went to bear his testimony. He was so thankful for the gospel, his new wife, and their new house, and the priesthood he had been blessed with. He was so excited by the time he mentioned the priesthood that he through his hands up in the air and shouted, "Thank you, Jesus!" and then closed and sat down. I thought his testimony was awesome, but Jeremy was sitting there, smiling and shaking his head. Yes, it was a little unorthodox, but it was heartfelt. A little taste of Southern religion.
